French wines to buy in Toronto and Ontario

Herebelow are French wines that I recommend and where to buy them in Toronto and Ontario. A retailer that is not listed here can sell the wine ; he/she only has to contact the merchant or the importer.

French wine values tasted in 2002

r Faugères - Domaine Léon Barral - Tradition

1999 - USD 17 - served cooled - cold red fruit (typical of a low-temperature type of wine-making), garrigue, pepper - round on the attack, fruity, juicy but tannic, fresh - very fine tannins, stalk

Canada, Ontario, Toronto, Le Sélect Bistro, French restaurant and wine bar

r Bourgueil - Joël Taluau - Cuvée du Domaine - [cabernet franc]

1996 - USD 17 - should be still aged, tasted after aeration in decanter - red and black fruit - onctuous, complete, a plant note, fresh

Canada, Ontario, Toronto, Le Sélect Bistro, French restaurant and wine bar

Price figures are only very rough estimates of the US retail tags, at the date of the tasting.

Wines are selected on personal criteria.

Other recommended wines may be available in Toronto, Ontario but their distribution channels are not referenced yet. Please enhance this tool by the coordinates of another shop that offers one of the latest French red wine values.
