Rosé wine values tasted in 2009
The selected French bottlings have given me much pleasure for the price. I have purchased them again for personal consumption. I would consider doing so even with a 50 percent mark-up. (My criteria are explained here.) A smaller best-buy page is available which shows only wines imported into the USA.
The below wines were tasted in France, in 2009 (between April and December).
Vin de pays des maures - Piqueroque - (5l box wine) - Rosé
NV - USD 7.4 - no trouble but no interest, ressembles the 2005 vintage - flower on the nose - light on its feet, a touch stiff, starfruit, fresh
Côtes de provence - Domaine Turenne - rosé (bib cubitainer de 5l)
2008 - USD 7.8 - a lot fruit - flower - intense, similar but smoother than the 2005 vintage, citrus, flower, biscuit, no stifness, pure and fresh
Vin de pays du var - Domaine de Brigue - (rosé)
2008 - USD 9.6 - typical - iris - round, dense and fresh
Côtes de provence - Domaine du Cagueloup - Cuvée Minette
2008 - USD 15 - flower (iris) - flower (iris), much alcohol, fresh La Vinéa
