Rosé wine values tasted in 2009

The selected vibrant bottlings have given me much pleasure for the price. I have purchased them again for personal consumption. You may look up the availability of wines if you enter a location name in the search box at the top of the page.

The below wines were tasted in France, in 2009 (between April and December). The tasting notes are listed by increasing prices, with the following format:

Appellation – producer – plot or brand – variety

Approximate price — vintage — general impression – on nose – on palate – after swallowing

Vin de pays des maures — Piqueroque — (5l box wine) — Rosé

— NV — no trouble but no interest, ressembles the 2005 vintage - flower on the nose - light on its feet, a touch stiff, starfruit, fresh

Côtes-de-provence wine labelCôtes de provence — Domaine Turenne — rosé (bib cubitainer de 5l)

— 2008 — a lot fruit - flower - intense, similar but smoother than the 2005 vintage, citrus, flower, biscuit, no stifness, pure and fresh

Vin de pays du var — Domaine de Brigue(rosé)

4 € — 2008 — typical - iris - round, dense and fresh

Côtes de provence — Domaine du Cagueloup — Cuvée Minette

— 2008 — flower (iris) - flower (iris), much alcohol, fresh
